New York Times, 12.05.2005 Hello Bierdie, bye bye Net For many people, badminton is a lazy game, played bare-foot on the lawn. The creators of Speedminton®, which was introduced to the United States from Germany in 2004, want you to put on sneakers and get your heart-rate up. The game uses a faster shuttlecock known as a speeder, a shorter racket than in racquetball or tennis, and its played without a net on a court or grass, indoors or out. The speeder looks like a traditional birdie but is faster off the racket, so players must be quick on their feet. |
